New Delhi News : The capital witnessed “ALTARS OF YEARNING – HOW INDIA PRAYS” that brought together 55 repertoires of photographs showcasing sights of people’s way of worshiping their religion.
The photographs were taken from Bengal to Rajasthan, Ladakh to Delhi and Orissa to Mumbai. The Curator of the show, Shripriya Dalmia Thirani has created the repertoire under her guidance and it took a half a month or so to put the show together.
The Lighting of Lamp was done by Ravi Shankar Prasad.
On this occasion Shripriya Dalmia Thirani said “I for instance greatly believe in the power of prayer. I prayed when I became a mother, I prayed when I became an entrepreneur and I pray almost every day. These are values inculcated in me by my family and specially my parents. It gives me strength, courage and above all purifies me to deal with the world around me with honesty and conviction”.
The event was relished by many Art and Photography lovers also it was a treat to the eyes to see people from different religious groups coming together to cherish a single binding institution – prayer
