New Delhi News, 07 Nov 2019 : Sujan Biswas will be holding his art exhibition Encapsulating Life on the Canvas. A tree is a popular and universal symbol that represents different things across various cultures and religions and primarily symbolizes the generations of existence. The symbol does not belong to one specific culture as it has been used all over the world for centuries. Although it would be overwhelming to explain its significance to each culture, Sujan Biswas has overarching themes and meanings that span across many people through his paintings.

The symbol has links to religion, philosophy, and spirituality. The idea of the tree of life has existed for almost as long as humans have. In his works, Biswas conveys the deep connection of tree of life around and the dependency on it for the ability to grow and thrive. By observing trees with the soulful vision, he sees into a deeper world of wonder, perfection, and unfathomable wisdom. Living by in sync with Nature makes a big impact on the world within and around us.

In various mythologies, theologies, and philosophies around the world, a symbol of life, the tree is used as a motif to represent many different qualities. The concept of the tree of life is also used in reference to the phenomenon of evolution. The phenomenon is used metaphorically to explain the theory of common descent.

Interestingly, enough, Sujan’s representations didn’t emerge from a trance state but instead occurs during meditation of the Symbol itself. While the symbol itself is finite, it is of infinite reference and symbolically fractural, in that it applies to every scale of consciousness, ranging from the barely existent, though practically infinite and Divine. The beauty of this is that you can find in the symbolic meaning that you can relate to. Interconnectedness, Stability, Strength and Growth, Individuality, Rebirth, Fertility and Family, Calm, Peace, and Relaxation are exceptional characteristics.

The Message that Biswas wants to convey with his art, “Growing a tree gives families a beautiful living memorial and perpetuates this wonderful and essential connection between mankind and trees. It is important to understand that even for the eternal being; there is always potential to achieve infinitely more growth, understanding, and wisdom. When you connect with nature, you grow more creative and this brings peace and joy.”

One can conclude that trees in the painting ask oneself to be rooted despite the fast pace of one’s lives, accepting whatever comes their way in a spirit of surrender. For, they exude beauty, and that is proof enough that the state of surrender is completely free of negativity.

The meaning of the tree of life as perceived by people from different faiths, belief systems, and cultures resonates with a simple yet strong message of staying connected and united. The symbol indicates that all forms of life are connected through cosmic energy and that humans should live in harmony with the rest of the world. However, there are many meanings contained in the Symbol of life and his thoughts are certainly not the last word.
