Mumbai News, 16 feb 2021 : Indian singer-composer Nikhita Gandhi had quite a year amidst a nationwide lockdown. She had two of the biggest songs of the year, Burj Khalifa from Laxmii and Guru Randhawa’s Naach Meri Raani, to her credit. Nikhita released her independent track Jhalle Kalle with JioSaavn AO, which got an overwhelming response from the listeners. Also, her track Khud Ko Hi Paake in association with MTV Beats Love Duets was her homage to the LGBTQ community, which was also loved by music aficionados. The singer added another feather to her cap by turning composer with the song, Tabdeeli from Netflix Original’s Mismatched.
Towards the end of 2020, Nikhita collaborated with popular American R&B and soul singer-songwriter, Pink Sweats, who is known for his songs Honesty, No Replacing You, Drama and At Your Worst. A source says, “He collaborated with Nikhita to revamp his song, At Your Worst. In the remix, Nikhita highlights the universal emotion of love and loving someone through their imperfections and even ‘at their worst’. The feeling of raw, unrequited love forms the essense of the remix.”
Talking about the collaboration, Nikhita says, “I had heard At My worst when it released in September, 2020 and I loved it. It’s one of those songs that are personal, yet universal, and make you fall in love with the idea of being in love. I was taken aback when I learned a few months later that Pink wanted me to work with him to revamp the song. When we did the first call, it just clicked and everything was a smooth sail from there. My verse is written and sung by me and it resonates with the theme of pure love, the feeling that when you truly love someone, you love them even at their worst.”
