Faridabad News, 21 June 2021 : Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice which originated in India. It symbolizes unity of body and mind; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between nature and man; holistic approach to health and well being. Recognizing the universal appeal of Yoga, the United Nations proclaimed 21st June as the International Day of Yoga.
On the occasion of 7th International Yoga Day, DAV Institute of Management (DAVIM) Centre for Environment in association with Rotaract Club of DAVIM commemorated this Day on 21st June 2021 on virtual Platform. The trainer of the day Yogacharya Shyam Sundar Ji is a National Yoga inspector of North India. He is currently a Ph.D scholar in Yogic Science. He is the founder of Vedic Life Yoga and Meditation Centre, Faridabad
The session began with warm up followed by some Asanas, Kriyas, Mudras and Pranayam which helped the faculty and staff to get energized and de-stress themselves. After doing yoga the participants were refreshed and felt light.
Dr. Ritu Gandhi Arora Officiating principal emphasized on the efficacy of Yoga in treating Life style related diseases and vowed to practice yoga on routine basis. She appreciated the efforts of Dr. Neelam Gualti, Head- Centre for environment and her team members Ms. Vandana Jain, Dr. Nidhi Turan, Ms. Neha Sharma and Dr. Geetika Khurana for organizing the session. Dr. Neelam Gulati emphasized how yoga has proven to be life saving in these covid times and one should practice yoga daily for healthy body & soul.
