Faridabad News, 10 March 2022 : NHPC, India’s premier hydropower company observed International Women’s Day under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav with great fervour and enthusiasm at its Corporate Office, Faridabad and across its various locations in the country. NHPC’s T&HRD Division and NHPC WIPs (Women in Power Sector) cell organized a two day workshop for NHPC women employees from 8th to 9th March 2022 to commemorate International Women’s Day.
Smt. Vartika Shukla, CMD, Engineers India Limited (EIL) was the Chief Guest at the concluding session of the workshop on 9th March 2022 at NHPC Corporate Office, Faridabad. Shri Mahendra Ranga, IRS, Principal Additional Director General, Department of Legal affairs was the special guest on the occasion. Shri A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC. Shri Y.K. Chaubey, Director (Technical), Shri R.P. Goyal, Director (Finance) and Shri A.K. Srivastava, CVO were also present on the occasion alongwith other senior officers and women employees of NHPC. The programme was telecast live across all NHPC Regional Offices, Power Stations and Projects to enable participation of all NHPC women employees posted at these locations.
Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Vartika Shukla, CMD, EIL extended her best wishes to all NHPC women employees on occasion on International Women’s Day. She further commended the NHPC women employees for their hard work and dedication and in working in remote and difficult regions of the country.
A special highlight of the programme was the awarding of Rs 50,000/- to Ms. A. Nalini, Senior Manager (Finance), NHPC by NHPC in due recognition of her outstanding performance in para sports at both National and International Leve. Ms A Nalini is a para athlete who has represented India in various national and interational sports events as World Dwarf Games, National Para Badminton Championships and Para Asian Cup etc. and has won over 35 medals in these competetions. Ms. Nalini has also been conferred with Best Women Employee Award by Scope in 2013 and WOW (Women of Wonder Award) in 2022.
