Health News, 28 April 2021 : In the midst of a full-blown pandemic, working from home is becoming the norm. Our abode creates a significant impact on our mental and physical health too. Therefore, we can bring more positivity into our residence by reorganizing our living space as they say- “Order is connected to health”

Here are some best ways to create positivity at home during the pandemic to consider:

1. Organize a separate workspace- Try to keep work and office lives separate as much as you can. Particular corner of a room can also be used.

2. Situate your work space near natural light – A space that is dark and dimly lit is almost always gloomy and confining. Even if there isn’t a lot of natural light in a room, it’s important to make sure it’s well lit. The simple act of turning on lamps and overhead lights at the appropriate times of day will immediately brighten and clean a room, making residents and caregivers alike feel more alert, lively, and hopeful.

3. Plant Plants or flowers around the home-Incorporating plants into a household provides hundreds of advantages. In addition to improving air quality, beautifying a room and adding personality to an environment, living houseplants and fresh-cut flowers have also been shown to improve the emotions and mental states of ill or elderly patients. They are a source of instant mood booster. They actively increase positive energy and focus like snake plants and cyclamen.

4. Move! -Although most people are aware that spending time in nature has health benefits such as decreased anxiety and lower blood pressure. However, considering the current situation it is best not to step outside. Fortunately, doing the next best thing is easy.Set reminders for yourself to move as much as possible even for a walk around the house.

5. Restrain from over-media-intake- Although staying informed is good, it’s easy to scroll ourselves into a nervous mess.

6. Put aesthetically, inspiring artifacts- The addition of meaningful artwork to the walls will help to bring positive energy into the house. Consider displaying cards or drawings created by children, relatives, or grandchildren in high-traffic areas such as the refrigerator or in frames on the living room and bedroom walls.Meaningful artwork will instantly make a space feel more hopeful by serving as a constant reminder of love, light, and happiness.

7. Use a scent – Scent is a strong sense, and several studies have shown that aromatherapy can actually help people feel better. Pick an upbeat essential oil like lavender, rosemary, or tangerine and drop a few drops into a diffuser to instantly invite positive energy into a room.

Essential oils are non-toxic, adaptable, and clean, and they can help a room smell new, light, and cheerful for hours.

8. Apply a fresh paint – Painting a room is a great way to make it feel clean, new, and light, even though some home care settings do not allow it. Choose a color that the occupant enjoys and paint it when they are gone.

When you’ve finished painting, put everything away and throw a little “welcome home” party. By covering blemishes on the walls and infusing the room with new life, painting, despite its simplicity, can have a profound impact on the positivity of an environment.

9. Set goals- goals help us look forward to the future with hope.

10. Declutter your space-Clutter induces stress, and stress is one of the most powerful suppressors of positive energy. Clutter is not only difficult to live with, but it can also be hazardous in a home care environment. Decluttering a room makes it feel calmer and more spacious, as well as serving the practical function of removing items that are no longer required.

Decluttering a single drawer in the kitchen or bedroom, for example, can have a significant impact on a room’s or space’s positivity. Keep regularly used places tidy and clutter-free, such as kitchen tables, nightstands, dining tables, and kitchen counters, and replace the clutter with a container of flowers or cherished family memories, instead.

Mr. Arun Kumar Chaubey, Co-Founder of Uniworks Designs commented “In times of constant negative messaging, we need an antidote so that we can keep our positive attitude and march forward with determination and hope. Be deliberate in activities such as decorate your home, plant trees and flowers that are positive, heartwarming, stress reducing and laughter inducing! Together, we’ll get through this.”
