Mumbai News 22 Aug 2021 : Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa Punjabi film Puaada released in cinemas 10 days ago and it has been running houseful in theatres all across the world since then. Puaada has collected Rs 11.50 Cr in 9 days and added approximately another Rs 90 lacs on the 10th day for a 10 day total of Rs 12.4 cr worldwide gross. Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa both are ecstatic with the audience love and appreciation for the film, Ammy says “Puaada has proved that good content whenever it releases brings audiences to cinemas! The entire Punjabi industry was waiting for a film to open the box office again after the lockdown and Puaada has shown everyone the way!! I’m super happy the film is being loved by everyone and that’s truly a blessing!”
Puaada is the first big budget commercial entertainer to release in the punjabi industry since more than a year and half, audiences were just waiting to come back to cinemas and get their dose of good comedy entertainment. Sonam Bajwa says “comedy looks easy but it’s one of the hardest genres to get right as making people laugh and have a good time is not easy. We are grateful at times like this we were able to deliver to audiences exactly what they wanted, something they can come to cinemas with their whole families and enjoy!”
The punjabi industry has a backlog of releases lined up for release, the makers are ecstatic that their decision to release the film now has worked for them and the entire punjabi film industry, says producer Pawan Gill “there was a lot of pressure to not only deliver audiences good quality entertainment but also to bring them back to the theaters, after Puaada’s success the punjabi industry is lining up all their releases and that is a very good sign for us all, punjabi audiences can enjoy films on the big screen once again.” The makers previous collaboration Shadaa with Diljit Dosanjh broke all box office records when it released and now they are doing the same with their Puaada, says producer Atul Bhalla “it feels great to give audiences back to back entertainers, and we hope to continue to entertain audiences again and again with all our future endeavours as well!” Puaada is now playing in cinemas worldwide.
