Mumbai : Bollywood woke up to a sad morning today with the news of filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar passing away. Though the senior filmmaker was suffering from health-related issues, he was working on a few projects; one such project was the biopic on actress Priya Rajvansh titled ‘Priya Interrupted’ to be produced by Deepak Mukut under his banner Soham Rockstar Entertainment.

While the late filmmaker was expected to start shooting ‘Priya Interrupted’ this year, producer Deepak Mukut is shocked and deeply moved by Sarkar’s passing away. Deepak Mukut informs, “I am deeply saddened by the passing away of Pradeep Da. Apart from being an extremely talented filmmaker and storyteller, he was a very large-hearted person and kind soul. The Priya Rajvansh biopic ‘Priya Interrupted’ (to be produced under Soham Rockstar Entertainment) was his dream project and he had already worked out the story, set design and costumes for the project.”

“He (Pradeep da) was very excited and passionate about his work. He was the perfect choice to helm a challenging project like ‘Priya Interrupted’ and everyone was looking forward to it post its announcement. Pradeep Da’s demise has left huge void in the Indian film industry which will be difficult to fill. May the departed soul rest in peace,” adds Deepak Mukut.

Deepak Mukut is always known for being a risk-taker producer of Bollywood who often likes to experiment with novel subjects and stories, biggest examples being ‘Dhaakad’, ‘Thank God’, ‘Bal Naren’ & ‘Forensic’ that released in theatre and OTT.

In comparison with 2022, the producer is looking forward to belt out an enviable line up of upcoming films under his production that promise to change the landscape of Indian cinema including ‘Kanjoos Makkhichoos’ starring Kunal Kemmu and Shweta Tripathi (now streaming on ZEE5), ‘Priya Interrupted’, and one of the most anticipated upcoming Bollywood movies, ‘Apne 2’ that unites three generations of the Deols on screen for the first time with Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Karan Deol. He has also launched ‘The Virgin Tree’ along with Sanjay Dutt and ‘Blind Game’ with Arjun Rampal and Priyamani and directed by Sangeeth Sivan and is in talks with some of the biggest actors and filmmakers for more of his upcoming films.
