A delegation of officers from Theme State Uttar Pradesh visited in Surajkund Mela

Faridabad News : A delegation of officers from Theme State Uttar Pradesh led by Shrimati Preeti Srivastava, Deputy Director Tourism, Govt. of UP visited Surajkund Mela Grounds on 25.11.2017 at 10.30 am. The representatives namely Shri Abhijeet Singh, Senior Project Consultant and Shrimati Shatakshi Mishra, Senior Consultant of famous consulting firm Ernst & Young LLP associating with Uttar Pradesh to plan its grand participation.

A meeting was held at Hotel Rajhans wherein Shri Rajesh Joon, Nodal Officer, SKMA, Shri Anuj Gupta, Executive Engineer, Haryana Tourism and Shri Dharamvir, Architect Haryana Tourism made a beief presentation on all aspects of Theme State’s participation.

The delegation thereafter visited Surajkund Mela Grounds to take stock of various works to be carried out on behalf of Theme State. Discussions on Apna Ghar of Uttar Pradesh wherein a weaver / Artisan family from far flung area of rural UP is expected to come and stay, aggressively promoting Banaras and Ayodhya circuit, Mathura, Kashi Vishwanath and various food traditions like Banaras ki Chaat, Mathura ka Pera,Awadhi cuisine of UP etc. through a Food Street are broadly discussed.

Various tourist attractions in UP are planned to be showcased through Temporary Gates, Commemorative structure and ambiance creation in the entire Mela Grounds.

Stone craft (Agra, Varanasi) Bareilly), Wood Craft(Saharanpur, Varanasi, Amroha), Paper Craft (Mthura, Rampur, Kalpi), Gemstone & Gold Arts (Lucknow, Agra, Meerat), Embroidery ( (Lucknow, Bijnor, Faizabad) , Clay ceramics (Khurja, Bulandshahar, Azamgarh), Cane Bamboo, Grass craft (Bareilly, Ghazipur, Meerut, Pilibhit), Handloom (Bhadohi, Shahjahanpur, Varanasi,, Barabanki) Metal Craft (Moradabad, Mathura, Lucknow, Hathrus), Scissors (Meerat) Silver craft (Lucknnow, Varanasi), Perfumery (Kannauj, Jaunpur) , Glass craft (Firozabad) from various areas of Uttar Pradesh would prominently figure in Crafts.

Shri Vijai Vardhan, IAS, Addl. Chief Secretary Tourism, Govt. of Haryana-cum-Vice Chairman, Surajkund Mela Authority along with senior officers of Haryana Tourism & Surajkund Mela Authority will visit Surajkund Mela Grounds to oversee and inspect the ongoing preparations at site tomorrow i.e. 26.11.2017 in the afternoon.
