Faridabad News, 24 June 2020 : If “necessity is the mother of invention”, COVID – 19 has forced many around the world to rethink our daily lives from work to education to entertainment. People have turned to digital tools to keep some semblance of normality. It’s imperative that we digitally transform our places of work and education to be able to maintain the connection with our stakeholders. Where we were already talking about the world being a global village, COVID – 19 has proved that distances have rather shortened and people have evolved newer ways of connecting with each other.
In such challenging times, DAVIM has once again proved that it adapts very swiftly to the changing scenario. During this global emergency, when most of the educational institutions were in a dilemma on how to connect with the students, The visionary Principal Director of DAVIM, Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, came up with the idea of organizing an 8 day Webtalk series and connect with students so that their queries can be addressed in an effective manner. DAVIM was live on FACEBOOK w.e.f 16th June 2020 – 24th June 2020 covering different post graduate and under graduate courses.
On the seventh day of the session i.e., 23rd June 2020, the virtual stage was handled by BBA(CAM) department from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM and gave an insight of their course. The opening remarks were given by Dr. Neelam Gulati (Dean Academics) where she acquainted the audience with advertence of different courses run by DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad.
The Principal Director Dr. Sanjeev Sharma addressed the audience by his captivating words and spread positivity in difficult times as this. The programme was moderated by Ms. Neha Sharma and insights of the department were given by Dr. Kavita Goel through enthralling Power Point Presentation which highlighted the course’s key features, achievements and its future endeavours and other activities held in the Institute for students. Mr. Harish Verma, from Training Development and Consultancy Center threw light on the placement and internship assistance which is provided by the institute. 800 plus viewers within an hour and chat box over flowed with queries are the evidence of session’s success. The query handling session was moderated by CA Bhawna Kharbanda. Few of the questions were taken up live and were duly answered by the senior faculties such as Dr. Meera Wadhwa, Dr. Ashima Tandon, Dr, (CS) Juhi Kohli, Dr. Rashmi Bhargava and Dr. Deepak Sharma and rest of them will be solved via Google forms. The Head of the department, Dr. (CS) Juhi Kohli gave the closing remarks with a formal vote of thanks.
In the times to come, technology is going to play a major role in Higher Education because teachers need to become mentors and gurus and make students think. DAVIM is committed to its goal of achieving excellence in education by adopting newer and better technologies and teaching methodologies.
