Faridabad News, 18th February 2021 : former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda has said that the government should respect the struggle of farmers and negotiate with the farmers to find a final solution as their demands are completely justified.
Hooda, who arrived in Faridabad on Thursday, to attend many social events, also addressed a press conference. Responding to questions raised by journalists, he said the farmer’s movement has gone on for almost 3 months and it has gone bigger over time as many sections of the society, including agricultural workers, shopkeepers, workers and small traders. He said the government should give up its obstinate attitude and accept the demands raised by farmers.
Talking about rising prices of essential items, Hooda said every section of the country today is plagued with record breaking inflation. “Petrol and diesel prices are touching hundreds, cooking gas cylinders and food items have impacted the budget of people’s kitchens. The poor and middle class are going through a very difficult phase because their income is decreasing, but expenses are constantly increasing due to inflation. The gap between the poor and the rich has been steadily increasing in the last 5-6 years as the rich are getting richer and the poor are becoming poorer,” he said.
When asked about the no confidence motion, Hooda said the BJP-JJP government of the state has lost the trust of the public. “The truth will come out with the no confidence motion as people will know which party and which MLA stands with them and who is standing with the government, even today,” he said.
Responding to the question on INLD leaders Abhay Chautala’s resignation, Hooda said the people of the state know that they have resigned only to strengthen the government. “Instead of performing his duty as an opposition legislator, he has resigned and is trying to escape his responsibility towards the people of the state,” he stated.
