Faridabad News, 16 Sep 2019 : The entire Manav Rachna family paid homage to its Founder Visionary Dr. O. P Bhalla on his sixth remembrance anniversary today through a Mega Blood Donation Camp at the Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI) campus. The Camp, inaugurated by Sh. Vipul Goel, Industries Minister, Govt. of Haryana was organized under the aegis of Dr. O P Bhalla Foundation in association with the Lions Club of Faridabad; Rotary Club of Faridabad East; B K Hospital, Santon Ka Gurudwara and Samanvaya Parivar Trust.
1392 units of blood were collected during the camp. A bone marrow donor registry drive was also organized in association with Jeevandayini Social Foundation, in technical collaboration with Gene Bandhu Blood Stem Cell Donor Registry. 120 donors registered for the Bone Marrow/Stem Cell donor registry drive.
Encouraging the young donors to participate wholeheartedly and appreciating this initiative of Manav Rachna, Sh. Vipul Goel said: “Manav Rachna Educational Institutions with their pioneering social commitment for the city of Faridabad have been ceaselessly participating in several social initiatives. I am glad to see the young generation registering themselves in large numbers for the noble cause. This definitely sets a precedent for others to follow”.
The Mega Blood Donation camp while perpetuating Dr O.P. Bhalla’s core belief of giving back to society, was also a reflection of the generosity of spirit evident among the young members of the Manav Rachna family, as they volunteered, most willingly to donate blood and help save lives. It is noteworthy that MREI has been organizing a series of camps for the benefit of the community throughout the year. These included free eye check-up camps, ergonomic assessment camps, mental health camps and nutrition as well as physiotherapy camps.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Prashant Bhalla, President, MREI, said: “Dr. O.P Bhalla lives on in the hearts of the Manav Rachna family, and his values and wisdom, an inspiration to posterity. We feel proud to follow in his footsteps, as the Institution dedicates itself, year after year, towards the creation of ‘better human beings’, conducting, among its manifold initiatives”.
Smt. Satya Bhalla, Chief Patron, MREI echoed similar sentiments, greatly touched by the enthusiasm at the Blood Donation camp. September 16, the day when Founder Visionary Dr O P Bhalla left for his heavenly abode was a solemn day for the Manav Rachna family. The day began with a floral tribute and bhajans by students of Manav Rachna International School adding to the pious surroundings of the early morning peace at Dr O P Bhalla Memorial Sthal, fondly known as the ‘Prerna Sthal’ in the midst of the Manav Rachna campus.
