Faridabad News, 07 Aug 2020 : These are challenging times for individuals, organizations and economies alike. COVID -19 has forced us to digitally transform our places of work and education to be able to maintain the connection with our stakeholders. In these challenging times, DAV Institute of anagement created an interactive platform which would enable students and academicians to interact with the Industry stalwarts through a Three Day web-talk series “MANTHAN: Churning of Ideas” to discuss “The impact of COVID 19 on Industries , how the businesses jumped back and the related impact on Present and Future Placement Scenario in India.
DAVIM holds the Vision of building a cohesive educational- industrial ecosystem that is geared up to actively drive growth in the aftermath of the current crisis. The session was organized with this vision in mind and aimed at providing the knowledge and experience needed by the students to be accustomed to the industry requirements during social disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a tradition of DAV, the session began with the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra. Dr. Juhi Kohli (FCS) welcomed the Honourable Minister of State for Industry and Commerce, Shri Som Prakash Kainth ji, the Chief Guest of the day, Padma Vibhushan, Prof. Man Mohan Sharma ji, Former Director University of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, Shri Shiv Raman Gaur ji. Director Higher Education, DAVCMC, Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, Principal Director, DAVIM, Dr. Ritu Gandhi Arora, Vice Principal and all the Esteemed Speakers of the day.
Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, Principal Director, DAVIM welcomed all the eminent guests and panelist of the day and thanked them for being part of this event. He congratulated the organizers of the event Dr. Ritu Gandhi Arora, Registrar & Vice Principal , Dr. Anamika Bhargava (IQAC Coordinator), Dr. Sarita Kaushik (NAAC Coordinator), Dr. Meera Arora ( Dean Student Support), Dr. Pooja Kaul- Dean- Innovation Cell, Dr. Gurjeet Kaur (Dean Outreach Programme) Mr. Harish Verma and Ms. Ruchi Dhumma from TDCC for coming up with this unique idea of holding this webtalk series on a very crucial topic which was the need of the hour in these challenging times.
Sh. Shiv Raman Gaur with his motivational words congratulated DAVIM team and said that he believes that the efforts of the institute in organizing such Industry Academia interface will definitely make it one of the most sought after institute in the country. Further reading out the message of worthy president of DAVCMC Padam Shree Sh. Punam Suri ji , he said that following the legacy of DAVCMC , DAVIM has been putting lot of efforts in serving the society by providing quality education and also gearing up for the change in these challenging times. He hoped and wished that the session will enlighten the students about the instantaneous changing needs and challenges of the industry, so that, the team of educational leaders, academicians and placement staff can develop just-in-time resources and services to help address these industry requirements.
Dr. Ritu Gandhi Arora presented the message of the Chief Guest of the day Sh. Shri Som Prakash Kainth ji, Honorable Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, wherein he congratulated the DAVIM fraternity for organising the much needed discussion with the Industry speakers as their valuable inputs and requirements will open new avenues for our budding graduates in these tough times. Prof. Manmohan Sharma on a very positive note motivated the students that the upcoming challenges will definitely open new paths and opportunities for them and it all depends on their endeavor to learn and accept the change.
Mr. Rahul Khajuria Sr.Director & Global Head of Drug Safety System & Analytics, United Therapeutics focused on the creation of Business continuity plan ready to adapt itself in any abrupt situation. He further emphasized that as the method of communication, the type of information will change so the virtual innovation will take up the world over. Mr. Mahesh Sachdeva CEO& MD of Fuji Gemco Pvt. Ltd shared his views on the creativity and innovation which needs to be imbibed in the students at the Institute level by the faculty members. He said that the institutes need to produce managers as per the requirement of industry as now the placement of a student will be primarily based on knowledge, information and training being given to him at his institute level. For this the faculty has to revisit and recreate themselves to meet this need.
Further Mr. Varinder Kumar Verma Head of Talent Acquisition & HR Transformation, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said that students need to focus on learnability, agility and adaptability to change. They must be trained for leadership magnetism so as to be ready for navigating the future challenges. Mr. Amit Arora, AVP Transitions, EXL Services India (P) Limited, said that industry is looking for specialists so the budding graduates need to put all their efforts in being specialised in area of their excellence. Mr. Pradeep Mohanty , MD, Sledge Hammer Oil Tools Pvt. Limited focused on the viewpoint that the upcoming business man , entrepreneurs must be hardworking and disciplined so as to cope up with these challenging times. Ms. Nikita Celly, Semior Manager, Corporate HR, Escorts Limited said that the youth of today must be open to learning and experiencing every opportunity being offered to them. The session was concluded by Dr. Juhi Kohli with a formal vote of thanks.
