Faridabad News, 16 Aug 2021 : Shri A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC after Flag hoisting, saluting the National flag on the occasion of Independence Day 2021 at NHPC Corporate Office in presence of Shri N.K. Jain, Director (Personnel), Shri Y.K. Chaubey, Director (Technical), Shri R.P. Goyal, Director (Finance), Shri Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects) and Shri A.K. Srivastava, CVO.
NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydropower company and a ‘Mini Ratna’ Category-I Enterprise of the Government of India celebrated India’s 75th Independence Day with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm on 15th August 2021. The celebration began with the hoisting of National flag by Shri A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC and singing of National Anthem at NHPC Office Complex, Faridabad. Shri N.K. Jain, Director (Personnel), Shri Y.K. Chaubey, Director (Technical), Shri R.P. Goyal, Director (Finance), Shri Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects) and Shri A.K. Srivastava, CVO were also present on the occasion alongwith other senior NHPC officers and employees.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC extended his greetings to the entire NHPC family and said that we should remember the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and national leaders who gave their lives for the nation. He further exhorted all employees to work hard and meet various targets as set by Hon’ble Prime Minister in his address from the Red Fort to the Nation on occasion of 75th Independence Day. He especially praised NHPC employees for their dedication during the second wave of Covid-19 during which NHPC employees worked with great dedication and ensured power generation on 24 x 7 basis.
A Tennis ball cricket match between Solar XI led by Shri A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC and Wind XI led Shri Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects), NHPC was also organized on the occasion. The celebrations were held following norms of social distancing in view of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
