Faridabad News, 22 feb 2021 : The Training Department of DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad in association with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organized a training Session on 20th February, 2021, on the topic “An Insight Into Data Privacy” for the first year students of MBA & MCA. The speaker of the session was Mr. Kartikeya Raman Gaur, Associate Director, Deloitte. He said that at the core of Data Privacy is the respect for data and that Individuals own their personal data and not organizations and data privacy aims to safeguard this personal data. He explained that one must think before posting anything on social media platforms as by doing this we are allowing our choices or preferences being used for our profiling and may also lead to malware attacks. Since data revolution is the gold rush of the 21st Century, we must be cognizant of the strategies involved in data protection and Mr. Gaur emphasised that we need very strict laws to counter this situation. Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, Principal Director and Dr. Ritu Gandhi Arora, Vice Principal, appreciated the efforts of the team of the Training Department and IQAC Cell for organising such a session which was a great learning experience for all.
