Faridabad News, 23 Aug 2021 : Hon’ble Union Minister ofState for Power and Heavy Industries,ShriKrishan Pal Gurjar today visited NHPC’s Subansiri Lower Project to review the ongoing construction activities at different sites of the Project. On his arrival at Mohanbari Airport at Dibrugarh, Hon’ble Minister was accorded a warm welcome in traditional Assamese culture by ShriBishwajitBasu, Director (Projects), NHPC and ShriJaneshSahni, HOP-Subansiri Lower Project.
On his arriving at the project, the Hon’ble Minister was accorded Guard of Honor by the CISF Unit posted at Subansiri Lower HE Project.
Hon’ble Ministervisited various sites of the Project and took stock of the progress of ongoing construction activities wherein Director (Projects), NHPC briefed about the progress in construction activities of the Project. Representatives of Major Works Contractors engaged in the Project also briefed about the quantum of construction activities in individual fronts.During the visit, Hon’ble Minister laid the Foundation Stone for the start of Turbine Assembly of Unit # 1 of the project. The Hon’ble Minister also inaugurated the 160 KWp Rooftop Solar Power Plant installed in the New Administrative Building of the Project.
Hon’ble Minister also visited an Exhibition organised by Farmer-Producers Companies registered for Livelihood interventions initiated by NHPC in the field of Piggery, Sericulture and Handloom in the Downstream areas of the Project. The Hon’ble Minister appreciated the efforts and initiative of NHPC for the people living in the downstream areas.
Representatives of district administrations of Dhemaji(Assam) and Kamle(Arunachal Pradesh) were also present during the visit of Hon’ble Minister.
