“World Environment Day” was commemorated at DAV Institute of Management

Faridabad news, 08 June 2021 : To commemorate the World environment day on 5th june 2021 the centre for environment and rotaract club of DAV Institute of Management organised Tree Plantation Drive . This was a two day event whereby the staff and students of DAVIM were encouraged to plant atleast one plant within the vicinity of their houses.All the staff members and students participated enthusiastically by growing plant in waste bottles, containers and by using basic seeds that were available in kitchen.

The pandemic that world has been facing for almost 1.5 years has taught us that how awful it can be if we disturb the ecosystem. To create awareness about emerging environmental issues and to inculcate the feeling of saving earth and environment, NSS wing of DAVIM in association with IQAC cell organized a quiz competition on the topic “Ecosystem Restoration” from 3rd June to 5th June so that students understand the need of plantation of trees, requirement of reversing the damage made to the Earth.

A Total of 376 students from DAV Institute of Management and different colleges participated in this online quiz. 251 students got more than 60% marks and achieved certificate of excellence for getting more than 60% marks in the quiz.

Dr. Ritu Gandhi Arora , Officiating Principal, DAVIM appreciated the efforts of Dr. Neelam Gulati , Head Centre for Environment , Dr. Rashmi Bhargava (convener of National Service Scheme) and their team members Dr. Nidhi Turan, Ms. Vandana Jain, Ms. Neha Sharma, Dr. Geetika Khurana, CA Alka Narula, Dr. Kavita Goel , Mr. Sachin Narula and Mr. Sameer for organising the much needed event of the hour which will sensitize students about the ruthless destruction and demolition made to the earth for the advancement of technology and globalization. She further said that the pandemic has once again warned us that we need to take care of our environment and these small efforts of DAVIM family would definitely make a difference and help us restore our environment.
