New Delhi, 23rd July 2020 : The rise in Coronavirus cases has made the government realise that it’s better to delay the Medical and Engineering Examinations as nothing is precious than a student’s life. Lately, there has been a lot of confusion about the NEET 2020 and JEE Mains 2020 Examination. After the protest from parents and students, the government finally broke the silence of confusion. The HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has announced the postponement in dates of Examination till September. The Examination dates for NEET-UG 2020 are September 13 and for JEE Mains 2020 it’s between 1st to 6th September. Earlier these examinations for JEE Mains were scheduled for July 18th and 23rd and for NEET it was scheduled for July 26th. These delays and postponement in examinations are not only a loss for the students but it will further affect the education system.
If the JEE Mains and NEET 2020 examination will be held in September then there will be a change in schedule of the academic year. With the exams in July, it was expected that the procedure of student enrolment will be completed by September and the new session will begin from the end of September or latest by October. But the current situation in NEET and JEE exams will delay the whole semester for students. Also, the delay in JEE and NEET Examination will speed up the result declaration. Usually, NTA takes a week to announce JEE results and a month for declaring NEET results. But now, because of this delay, the NTA will announce these results before JEE results in 5 days and NEET results in 20 days. Overall, the year 2020 and the Covid-19 pandemic has a devastating impact on academics.
Gaurav Tyagi, Founder of Career Xpert said; тАЬThis situation is very unsupportive and baffling for the Medical and Engineering aspirants. This is the testing time for all of us and especially for the students in our country who have been preparing for these competitive exams for so long. The delay in JEE and NEET Exams will affect the new academic year students. The new session will most probably start in October. Because of these delays in examination dates, students are getting extra time to prepare for the final exam which is a very good thing. Students should only focus on preparation and revise the syllabus twice or thrice. With this, the competition is also getting very intense and harder. If more and more students are able to gain higher marks then the cut-off will be very high this time which is not a good sign for the aspirants.тАЭ
