New Delhi News, 30 Jan 2020 : KS Radhakrishnan belongs to the generation of sculptors who emerged on the Indian art scene in the early eighties and were instrumental in bringing about new energy and focus into sculpture. The proposed exhibition, Mapping with figures on 30th January 2020 at Gallery Nvya, Booth 19, India Art Fair 2017, NSIC Ground Exhibition Complex, Okhla, New Delhi will explore the trajectory of his work from the last few years through a selection of about 20 works representing the entire gamut of his oeuvre in kind and scale.
As a sculptural medium, modeling and bronze casting is a versatile combination that can be easily adapted to different treatments, sizes, and locations. Using it a sculptor can easily move from an intimate scale to a truly monumental one with ease. And this is one aspect that Radhakrishnan has explored variously in his works from the last two decades. His work today combines aspects of object materiality of the medium with figural sensuousness and narrative nuances. The Exhibition will continue till 2nd February 2020.
