New Delhi News, 19 Sep 2018 : Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is all set to showcase his upcoming intense flick and this time it’s a biological drama film “Manto”. Threfore, he was witnessed in Delhi along with him the writer & director of the film Nandita Das, lead actress Rasika Dugal were also present in the press conference held at PVR, Chanakyapuri. The entire team seemed highly confident about their work, and revealed the details of the film with media peeps. Manto is based on the 1940′ post independent period of time. And Nawaz portraying the character of Indo-Pakistani, author and writer Saadat Hasan Manto.
On asking about his character, he revealed, “My character is a daring person. Manto follows truth. When I got to know about Manto, I felt him too similar with myself. I guess am almost like him in real life. It’s a special character.” When asked about his preparation for the characters like Manto & Ganesh Gaitonde, in a funny way he stated, “It’s a secret formula, I won’t tell this to anyone.”
Whereas, Nandita on being in Delhi said, “Delh is my place, it’s my home. I feel amazing being here anytime.” About the film she said, “Manto is a way, a response for me to portray the truth to society. Manto talks about humanity. It’s an inspirational character. We all tried to showcase the reality of Manto, the way he is. This movie was a wonderful experience, I am totally overwhelmed. It was a great time.” Actress Rasika told media, “My experience was fabulous. I got really excited when Nandita told me about the film. It was a dream came true for me. Everything in one, Manto, Nawaz, Nandita. For me it was a beautiful journey.” Further she added, “Yes I was nervous while working with Nawaz. And somehow I managed to work with him, and I feel great about it.”
Well, featured under the banner of HP studios, Filmstoc, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures & Nandita Das Initiatives. It also stars Tahir Raj Bhasin, Feryna Wazheir, Javed Akhtar, Rishi Kapoor, Ranvir Shorey, Ila Arun and more in prominent roles. Manto is releasing this 21st September.
