New Delhi News : Pink Tea Cup took an interesting twist at Oxford Book Store, Cannaught Place. A panel discussion titled “Women and Political Humor”, was organised with esteemed group of panelists Dr. Alok Puranik, Dr. Anand Prakash, Dr.Neelima Chauhan, Raghav Mandava and moderated by Garima Dutt.

The talk revolved around women and their humor which are being used in day- to-day lives and how they are formerly been under-represented in jokes.

The panelists shared their opinions on women and political humor, which women can absorb and learn to overcome things. It turned out to be an interactive session wherein audiences came up with queries and had a hearty conversation with the panelists.

Dr. Anand Prakash explained women are targetted audience and active receiver of jokes been cracked in audience, in support of his statement he also added that if intelligence lies anywhere in the society, it is in the women.

Raghav Mandava discussed about women standup comedian, where he said it is not mandatory for a girl to be funny, but not in case of boys. He also mentioned that there is slow progress of women in field of humor.

Dr. Alok Puranik claimed that we always mock on people who are weaker than us or someone who cannot answer back wherein we end up making fun of wives and servants. In context of his statement, he added that a women is fallen for granted and considered as a second grade citizen is something women agrees with, they should make themselves financially powerful.

Dr. Neelima Chauhan discussed about hindi language and read few lines of her book, and revealed thoughts towards women issue.

The Event was graced by the presence of renowned personalities.
