Noida News, 31 May 2022 : Noida, St+art India Foundation in collaboration with Asian Paints held a St+art Care Workshop – a one-of-its-kind art event for kids at the Post Graduate Institute for Child Health Noida. The workshop is an extension of their art intervention, St+art Care, which aims to bring much needed respite and joy in government-run institutions. The first institution to be transformed as a result of St+art Care, is the Post Graduate Institute for Child Health in Noida.

The Asian Paints x St+art Care Workshop was attended by Riddhima Kapoor Sahani, joined by mommy bloggers who were there to support the kids in their artistic feat. Paper artist Sanjeev Kumar Chouhan helped the children at the hospital make paper toys in a process that was curated to make art more fun and accessible for them.

The workshop is an effort to turn the stressful and intimidating experience of being in a hospital, into a friendlier one, especially for its young patients. By organizing a fun activity for the children and caregivers at the hospital, Asian Paints and St+art India Foundation are creating a positive perception of the overall healthcare experience at the children’s hospital.

Fostering creative interest and ability, the St+art Care Workshop allows kids to relax and enjoy the process of art-making. The workshop included activities that were tailored in ways to ensure all the kids have access to their creative expression – whether in the wards or by the bed-side.

Arjun Bahl, Co-Founder St+art India Foundation says, “We have kick started St+art Care project aiming to bring art to and transform spaces, which are usually neglected such as Paediatric Hospitals, Old Age Homes, Orphan Homes etc. Our mission is to contribute to spaces, which are funded by Governments, NGOs and Non-profits by bringing visual narratives, colour and vibrancy to them. By means of this workshop, we are trying to trace a deeper process of connection to stimulate a sense of belonging to the young patients at the hospital and to make them co-actors in the mural making process. We are grateful that our vision partner Asian Paints is partnering with us on vital projects such as these. I would also like to thank the administration and faculty members of The Post Graduate Institute of Child Health, Noida for working with us on the 1st edition and enabling our vision of creating spaces where art becomes accessible to those who need it most.”

Amit Syngle, MD & CEO, Asian Paints Ltd. said, “The crux of our partnership with St+art India Foundation is the shared belief that art needn’t be restricted to galleries and should to be enjoyed and appreciated in public spaces. Thus, we joined hands with St+art India Foundation over 8 years ago to make art more accessible to the masses through various art interventions across the country with many talented artists and community outreach programs. We are now very happy and proud to begin work on our latest collaboration – St+art Care. The first initiative under St+art Care will bring much needed respite and joy to those who need it the most; patients, specifically children and healthcare staff at The Post Graduate Institute of Child Health. We look forward to unveiling this exciting art installation and hope that it will be enjoyed by all who get a chance to see it.”

The theme of the mural transforming the hospital is an interpretation of nature within the framework of urbanization. It will show children lifting the glass block indicative of buildings today, to show nature behind it. Two other kids look on with amazement from another block at the beauty of nature beyond mass urbanization. It will soon be unveiled for onlookers and art connoisseurs.
