New Delhi News, 3rd July 2021 : Delhi- Known for its community service, The Rotary Club of New Delhi hosted a donation drive on 3rd July at Nigam Pratibha Vidyalaya Girls School, Malviya Nagar, and distributed highly nutritious food items such as chickpea, jaggery to curb the issue of malnutrition rampant, especially amongst girl children. It also distributed essentials such as sanitary pads, N95 masks, and storybooks to aid underprivileged students in such difficult times.
The event was graced by eminent dignitaries including Ms. Minakshi Lekhi, MP who stated, “It was highly encouraging to see such an overwhelming response towards the donation drive”. Mr. Vir Philips also marked his presence and commented, “The efforts of the Club are commendable in encouraging more people to come forward and contribute amidst such tough times”.
The drive saw enthusiastic participation, amidst special guests such as Ms. Radhika Abrol Phogaat, Deputy Chairperson, Education committee, SDMC Municipal Councilor, South Delhi, who supported the cause.
In the future, The Club aims to help curb blindness amongst the less privileged by aiding in regular check-ups, provision of medicines and medical care. With such initiatives in its pipeline, The Rotary Club of New Delhi is committed to contributing to societal change, especially during this time of global crisis.
