New Delhi News : The premiere of the award-winning Short film titled “Kitaab” starring legendary actor late Mr. Tom Atler held in New Delhi. The actor who will be remembered for his brilliant acting, Tom Alter will be seen in his last feature film. The movie is based on the increasing influence of electronic gadgets, we are moving away from books. Therefore, apart from the film screening, there was also a panel discussion on the topic of “Impact of Electronics gadgets on Books.”
The event took place in Film Division Auditorium at Mahadev Road. The entire program was graced by the presence of well-known personalities and the panelists, Padmbhushan Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak, Founder Sulabh Swachchata Andolan and Smt. Maitreyee Pushpa noted Novelist and Hindi Writer, Vice Chairperson, Hindi Academy, as well as director of the film Kamlesh K Mishra.
In the panel discussion, Dr. Pathak stated, “Nowadays, people are tangled up in gadgets and mobiles. All these gadgets need support, they can’t work without any support like electricity, internet and all, but our books are free. Yes, gadgets are also important but it can’t replace the feel of a book.”
Whereas, Smt. Maitreyee said, “the history of Kitaab is old, it changes every phase of life and things have changed a lot, we don’t need any technology for a book, no internet nothing. We can read a book anywhere, in a forest as well. Yes, technology has reached so far, mobile phones are useful for everyone even ladies in small villages as well. But the culture of books will never end and it should not end.”
Directed by the award-winning director Kamlesh K Mishra, the impactful film reveals, because of the increasing influence of electronic gadgets, the books are getting away from us. And the legendary actor Late Tom Alter has played the role of an old librarian in this film and left no stone unturned to get the last reader coming to the library.
Well, ‘Kitaab’ won best film Short Film, Calcutta International Cult Film Festival. A finalist for Feel The Reel International Film Festival (U.K), Chosen for Second Best Male Actor (Tom Alter).
Even Semi-Finalist for Las Angeles Cine Fest (Still in the race of Finalist) and Official Selection for Rome Independent Prisma Award.
